Scolochloa is a genus of grasses in the grass family, Poaceae (also called Gramineae). The genus currently contains only one species: Scolochloa festucacea, which is commonly known as common rivergrass. This species grows in Europe, temperate Asia, and North America. It has erect culms that reach 100 to 150 centimetres (39 to 59 inches) in height. Its leaf blades measure 15 to 30 cm (5.9 to 11.8 in) long and 5 to 10 mm (0.20 to 0.39 in) wide.
