About Sciota uvinella

Sciota uvinella, commonly known as the sweetgum leafroller moth, is a species of snout moth belonging to the genus Sciota. It was first described by Ragonot in 1887. This moth is found in North America, with recorded populations ranging from New Jersey to Florida, and extending west to Texas and Kentucky. Adult sweetgum leafroller moths are active in flight from April through September each year. The larvae of this species feed on Liquidambar styraciflua.
