About Scilla mischtschenkoana Grossh.
Scilla mischtschenkoana, commonly known as Mishchenko squill, Misczenko squill, early squill, or white squill, is a perennial plant native to the South Caucasus and northern Iran. Each individual grows from a small bulb, and produces 2 to 3 strap-shaped leaves and pale blue flowers marked with darker veins. This species blooms in early spring or late winter. Mature plants reach 5 to 15 cm (2.0 to 5.9 in) in height, and grow to approximately 5 cm (2.0 in) in width. Both the species S. mischtschenkoana and its cultivar 'Tubergeniana' have received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
