About Schistolais leucopogon (Cabanis, 1875)
The white-chinned prinia, with the scientific name Schistolais leucopogon, is also commonly called the white-chinned warbler. It is a bird species that belongs to the Cisticolidae family. This species was first described by German ornithologist Jean Cabanis in 1875, when it was originally given the binomial name Drymoeca leucopogon. Its specific epithet leucopogon comes from Ancient Greek: leukos means "white" and pÅgÅn means "beard".
This bird is found in the African countries of Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. Its natural habitats include subtropical or tropical dry forest, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, subtropical or tropical moist montane forest, and subtropical or tropical moist shrubland.
