About Sceloporus ornatus Baird, 1859

Sceloporus ornatus, commonly known as the ornate spiny lizard, is a species of lizard that belongs to the family Phrynosomatidae. This species is native to north-central Mexico. Two taxa that were previously treated as subspecies of the ornate spiny lizard, Sceloporus oberon and Sceloporus caeruleus, have now been raised to the status of separate distinct species.
