About Sceloporus gadoviae Boulenger, 1905

Sceloporus gadoviae is a species that is moderate-sized within its genus. It reaches a maximum snout-to-vent length (SVL) of 6.8 cm (2.7 in), and is olive-brown on its dorsal side. This species is native to the Mexican states of Guerrero, Michoacán, Morelos, Oaxaca, and Puebla. Its preferred natural habitat is rocky areas within forest and shrubland, found at altitudes ranging from 1,000 to 1,800 m (3,300 to 5,900 ft). S. gadoviae reproduces by laying eggs (it is oviparous). Its typical clutch size is approximately four eggs, and each egg measures about 14 mm by 7.5 mm (0.55 in by 0.30 in).
