Sceloporus dugesii, formally described by Bocourt in 1874, is commonly called Dugès' spiny lizard in English, and known as la lagartija espinosa de Dugès del este in Mexican Spanish. It is a species of lizard belonging to the family Phrynosomatidae, and it is endemic to Mexico. This species is native to western Mexico, where it occurs in the Mexican states of Colima, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Michoacán, and Nayarit. Its preferred natural habitat is rocky areas located within forest and shrubland. S. dugesii reproduces via ovoviviparity.
