About Sceloporus bicanthalis Smith, 1937

Sceloporus bicanthalis, first formally described by Smith in 1937, is a small viviparous lizard. On average, this species reaches 45 mm (1.8 in) in snout–vent length. Its geographic distribution extends east from the eastern Valley of Mexico to the eastern end of the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt, and continues into the northern Sierra Madre de Oaxaca. It is found in tussock (bunchgrass) grassland habitats located within open pine forests, at elevations between 2,900 and 4,400 m (9,500 to 14,400 ft) above sea level.
