Scientific name: Scaptia auriflua (Donovan, 1805). Adult individuals of this species are approximately 10 millimetres (0.4 inches) in length. They mimic bees, featuring dense hair and golden coloration. Their eyes meet at the center of the head, and the apparent eye color changes depending on the light source it is viewed under.
