About Scaphidium quadrimaculatum A.G.Olivier, 1790
Scaphidium quadrimaculatum, a species of small beetle, reaches a body length of 5–6 millimetres (0.20–0.24 in). Individuals of this species have broad, oval-shaped bodies. Their entire body is shiny black, with four irregular red spots located on their elytra. The thorax is somewhat narrowed on each side toward the back. Elytra have widely spaced punctures, while the tibiae are marked with distinct grooves or lines. This is a quite uncommon beetle species that occurs across most of Europe, North Africa, and the Near East.
