About Scaevola repens de Vriese
Scaevola repens de Vriese is a prostrate shrub with branches reaching up to 50 cm in length. Its leaves are stalkless with smooth edges, and may or may not have prominent axillary hairs. Leaf blades grow up to 90 mm long and 15 mm wide. Flowers form in axillary spikes that reach up to 30 mm long. Bracts are leaf-like but smaller. Sepals are rim-shaped and up to 1 mm long. The corolla measures 8 to 15 mm long; it has dense, appressed golden or yellowish hairs on the outside, and is hairy on the inside on both its lobes and throat. Corolla color ranges from white to cream, and is rarely sometimes mauve. The fruit is ovoid, warty, and approximately 4 mm long. This species can be distinguished from other Scaevola species with axillary flower spikes by its yellow to almost golden hairs on the outside of the corolla. It is distributed in the IBRA Regions of Avon Wheatbelt, Geraldton Sandplains, Jarrah Forest, and Swan Coastal Plain; corresponding to the South-West Province in Beard's provincial classification.
