Saxidomus nuttalli is a species of large edible saltwater clam. It is a marine bivalve mollusk that belongs to Veneridae, the venus clam family. Its common names are California butterclam and Washington clam. This clam is native to the west coast of North America, and its native distribution ranges from northern California to Baja California. It is a commercially exploited species, and grows to an approximate length of 15 cm.
