About Sargus bipunctatus (Scopoli, 1763)

This species has a body length ranging from 10 to 14 mm. Its frons is less broad than that of Sargus cuprarius. The mesonotum is a metallic green color, while the abdomen is brown with a violet metallic tinge. Females have a broader build than the slender males; males have an extensively reddish abdomen base and a blackish abdomen tip that bears blue reflections. The wings are slightly yellow, the legs are red, and the tarsi are brown at their apex. This species can be found in the Trans-Caucasus Central belt and in areas south of Western Europe.
