About Sargocentron diadema (Lacepède, 1802)

This species, scientifically named Sargocentron diadema (Lacepède, 1802), is also called the crowned squirrelfish. The fish has a bright red body, marked with thin white lines that run from its gill cover to the caudal peduncle. Two vertical white lines are present on the gill cover, and a third white line runs along the upper lip and beneath the large eye. The crowned squirrelfish is commonly found living on reefs across the Indo-Pacific region, ranging from East Africa to Tahiti.
