About Sarda chiliensis (Cuvier, 1832)

Sarda chiliensis, commonly known as the eastern Pacific bonito, is a marine bonito species. Its natural distribution extends from Ecuador to Chile. Sarda lineolata, a species found from Alaska to Mexico, was previously classified as a subspecies of Sarda chiliensis under the name Sarda chiliensis lineolata. Keeping this former classification would leave Sarda chiliensis with a geographically disjunct range.
