Sarcohyla hapsa, commonly known as the northern streamside tree frog, is a species of frog in the Hylidae family that is endemic to Mexico. Scientists have observed this species at elevations ranging from 1,280 to 2,550 meters above sea level. Its distribution covers three regions in Mexico: the southern Sierra Madre Occidental, spanning from Durango to Nayarit states; the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt, covering Michoacán, Morelos, Guerrero, and Mexico states; and the northern Sierra Madre del Sur, covering Jalisco and Michoacán states. This frog lives alongside mountain streams in humid montane pine-oak, pine, and pine-fir forests, and resides in streamside vegetation.
