Saperda octopunctata (Scopoli, 1772) is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae, and it is the type species of the genus Saperda. It was described by Scopoli in 1772, and was originally classified under the genus Leptura. It has a wide distribution across Europe. It feeds on Populus tremula. Individuals of S. octopunctata measure between 13 and 18 millimeters, which equals 0.51 to 0.71 inches in length.
