About Salvia engelmannii A.Gray

Salvia engelmannii A.Gray, commonly known as Engelmann's sage or Engelmann's salvia, is a herbaceous perennial plant. It is endemic to the limestone hills of central Texas. This species grows in a mound shape reaching 1 to 1.5 feet (0.30 to 0.46 meters) in height, and has velvety leaves. Its pale lavender flowers grow on spikes that measure 4 to 6 inches (10 to 15 centimeters) long.
