Adults of Saltuarius moritzi usually reach an approximate snout-to-vent length (SVL) of 11 cm (4.3 in), and the species may attain a maximum recorded SVL of 10.9 cm (4.3 in). Its rostral scale contacts the nostrils. The upper surfaces of its digits bear large spinose tubercles. This species has extremely variable coloration. Saltuarius moritzi is endemic to the New England Tablelands in New South Wales. Its preferred natural habitats are closed forests, wet sclerophyll forests, and rocky landforms including escarpments, gorges, and outcrops. Saltuarius moritzi is an oviparous species.
