About Salix myricoides Muhl.

Salix myricoides, commonly known as bayberry willow or blue-leaf willow, is a species of flowering plant that belongs to the family Salicaceae. It is native to the Great Lakes region of the Midwestern United States and to eastern Canada. This species is most commonly found on the beaches and dunes of the Great Lakes. It occasionally grows along inland streams and in fens, but only when the fens are calcareous. As an example of its occasional inland occurrence, in Maine it is only found growing on the ice-scoured shore of the St. John River.
