About Sahulana scintillata (Lucas, 1889)

Sahulana is a genus of butterflies in the family Lycaenidae. It was erected by Toshiya Hirowatari in 1992. This genus is monotypic, meaning it contains only one single species: Sahulana scintillata. This species was first described by Thomas Pennington Lucas in 1889. It can be found on Torres Strait Island and within the Australian state of New South Wales. The larval food plants of Sahulana scintillata are Acacia, Alectryon, and Cupaniopsis, and the larvae feed on the flower buds of these plants.
