Sabulina douglasii is an annual herb. It reaches a maximum height of 30 centimeters, and has a slender stem that is green or purplish, and sometimes grows thin branches. Its leaves are threadlike, curling, up to 4 centimeters long, and less than 1 millimeter wide. Its small flowers have five white petals, each a few millimeters long, along with smaller, ribbed sepals.
