About Rutidosis leptorrhynchoides F.Muell.
Rutidosis leptorrhynchoides F.Muell. is a perennial herb that branches simply or multiply from a woody rootstock. It grows 15–30 cm (5.9–11.8 in) tall, is leafy, and typically has mostly smooth stems, though stems toward the base are often somewhat woolly. Most leaves grow on the aerial stems; they are narrow and linear, bright green, 15–35 mm (0.59–1.38 in) long, 0.5–1.5 mm (0.020–0.059 in) wide, with rolled-under margins, are mostly smooth, and end in a pointed apex. Each stem bears a single yellow flower head 8–15 mm (0.31–0.59 in) in diameter, which is composed of numerous florets around 7 mm (0.28 in) long. Its bracts are arranged in 5 to 8 rows, are dull green, and occasionally have toothed or somewhat jagged edges. Flowering occurs mostly in summer. The fruit is a narrow, brown, obovoid cypsela around 1.5 mm (0.059 in) long, with several bristles 3 mm (0.12 in) long. This species, commonly called button wrinklewort, grows in grassland and woodland habitats in New South Wales, Victoria, and the Australian Capital Territory.
