About Russula queletii Fr.
Russula queletii Fr. has a cap that starts round or convex when young, and matures into a shape that is broadly convex, flat, or depressed. The cap ranges in color from wine-red to purplish, and measures 3 to 10 centimeters in diameter. Its gills are white to cream-colored, and can be adnate, subdecurrent, or adnexed. This species produces a cream-colored spore print. The stipe shares a similar color with the cap, and is 3 to 8 centimeters long and 0.5 to 1.8 centimeters wide. The flesh of Russula queletii Fr. is white. It has a fruity scent, and an acrid taste.
