About Rumex vesicarius L.

Rumex vesicarius L. is an erect, succulent annual herb that grows up to around 60 cm tall. Its leaves are triangular to ovate, with entire margins, measuring 5–10 cm long, and have truncate or cordate bases. Its stipules form an almost complete sheath around the stem that eventually disintegrates. The flowers are green with a red tinge, and bear six perianth segments; the inner three segments become enlarged and papery during fruiting. The hard, red, reticulately veined fruits persist, creating striking, noticeable displays.
