About Rumex pseudonatronatus (Borbás) Borbás ex Murb.
Rumex pseudonatronatus has two common names: field dock and Finnish dock. It is a perennial herbaceous plant species that is native to northern Europe and northern Asia. It has been recorded from multiple locations across its native range, including Asiatic and European Russia, China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Netherlands, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Belarus, among others. The species has become naturalized across much of Canada and the north-central region of the United States. It has been documented in every Canadian province stretching from Québec to British Columbia, as well as Yukon, and the US states of North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota. This plant grows in wet and/or disturbed habitats including stream banks, lake shores, roadsides, ditches, cultivated fields, and meadows. Stems of Rumex pseudonatronatus are erect, growing up to 150 cm tall, and often branch above the middle portion of the stem. Its leaves are lanceolate, reaching up to 30 cm in length. Its inflorescence typically occupies the upper half of the shoot; the flowers are green, pink, or red, and arranged in whorls that can hold up to 30 flowers per whorl. The achenes produced by this species are reddish-brown and grow up to 3 mm long.
