About Rudbeckia grandiflora (Sw.) J.F.Gmel. ex DC.
Rudbeckia grandiflora (Sw.) J.F.Gmel. ex DC. is a perennial plant that grows from a woody base, reaching a height of around 120 cm. It produces relatively large inflorescences, which bear 12 to 25 yellow ray flowers. Each individual ray flower measures approximately 3 to 5 cm in length. This species blooms from late spring through summer. It is native to North America, and its primary native range is in the south-central United States. There is also a disjunct native population located in northwest Georgia. All other small, isolated populations of this species found further east are thought to have come from human introductions. Its typical natural habitat includes prairies and open woodlands.
