Rothschildia jacobaeae, commonly known as the Brazilian silk moth, is a moth species in the family Saturniidae. It was first formally described by Francis Walker in 1855. This species is endemic to Argentina and Brazil. Adults have a wingspan ranging from 80 to 100 mm. The larvae of Rothschildia jacobaeae feed on plants from multiple families, including Ilex paraguariensis, Jacaranda caroba, Jacaranda mimosifolia, the genus Ligustrum (including Ligustrum ovalifolium), and Cephalanthus glabratus.
