About Ribes wolfii Rothr.

Ribes wolfii Rothr. is a shrub that can grow up to 5 metres (16 ft) tall. It has 3–5 lobed leaves, and produces cream-colored, pinkish, or green pink flowers. Its berries are black, glandular, and are reported to be sweet and tasty. The species has a disjunct, or discontinuous, distribution, with two main separate population concentrations divided by a gap of over 320 km (200 miles). One concentration is located in northern Idaho, northeastern Oregon, and southeastern Washington. The other is found in Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. There is also a reported isolated population south of the border in Chihuahua, Mexico. Ribes wolfii grows in moist habitats, including meadows and montane forests. Its berries are edible.
