About Rhyothemis phyllis (Sulzer, 1776)

Rhyothemis phyllis, commonly called the yellow-striped flutterer or yellow-barred flutterer, is a dragonfly species belonging to the family Libellulidae. This species is widespread across Southeast Asia, with recorded occurrences in Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and also in northern Australia. Rhyothemis phyllis is a small to medium-sized dragonfly that is most commonly found at open ponds, marshes, and swamp forests. Its flight typically has a fluttering pattern. Two subspecies of Rhyothemis phyllis are known to occur in Australia: Rhyothemis phyllis chloe Kirby, 1894 and Rhyothemis phyllis beatricis Lieftinck, 1942.
