About Rhodofomitopsis lilacinogilva (Berk.) B.K.Cui, M.L.Han & Y.C.Dai
Rhodofomitopsis lilacinogilva produces shelf-like fruit bodies, typically 3โ10 cm (1โ4 in) across, that attach directly to their growing substrate without a stipe. The fruit body caps have concentrically ridged surfaces, and are brown with lilac tints. The lilac-coloured underside of the cap has 4โ5 pores per millimetre. This fungus produces a white spore print; its individual spores are smooth and ellipsoid, measuring 6โ9 by 2โ3 ฮผm. Rhodofomitopsis lilacinogilva is primarily known from Australia, where it is widely distributed, with confirmed reports from Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia, and the Northern Territory. The species was first recorded in India in 2009, and first recorded in Brazil in 2015. It is not native to Europe, but has been reported as an exotic species growing on imported eucalyptus wood sheet piling in a new housing estate in Groningen.
