About Rhinomyias brunneatus (Slater, 1897)
The brown-chested jungle flycatcher is a bird species that belongs to the Old World flycatcher family Muscicapadb. It was previously classified under the genus Rhinomyias, but a 2010 molecular phylogenetic study resulted in its reclassification to the genus Cyornis; its scientific name is Cyornis brunneatus, with the basionym Rhinomyias brunneatus (Slater, 1897). This species breeds in South China and migrates to the Malay Peninsula for the winter. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, and subtropical or tropical mangrove forests. It is currently threatened by habitat loss.
