About Rhinella arenarum (Hensel, 1867)

Its distribution covers southern Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia east of the Andes, and Argentina from Chubut Province northwards. This species lives in small ponds and bogs with stagnant water, located in dry temperate habitats that are mostly open areas. It is locally common. Although individuals are collected for educational and scientific purposes, and the species also experiences mortality from road collisions, it is not overall considered threatened.
