About Rhadinosticta banksi (Tillyard, 1913)
Rhadinosticta banksi (Tillyard, 1913) is an Australian damselfly species belonging to the family Isostictidae, and it is commonly called the northern wiretail. This species prefers to live in freshwater streams and pools. Adult Rhadinosticta banksi are small to medium-sized damselflies, with a total body length of 35 to 40 millimeters, and a hindwing length of 20 to 25 millimeters. They have dull overall colouration, a bluish thorax, and may develop pruinescence near the tip of the abdomen. Within Australia, this damselfly is distributed across suitable habitat that extends from Broome, Western Australia, across the northern part of the continent to the southern Queensland border. This taxon has been rated as a species of least concern on the IUCN Red List.
