About Reticulidia halgerda Brunckhorst & Burn, 1990

Reticulidia halgerda reaches a maximum length of 7.0 cm. This species differs both externally and internally from species in the genera Phyllidia and Phyllidiopsis, two groups that also have yellow coloration and tuberculate ridges. Instead of having spiculose tubercles, Reticulidia halgerda has smooth, reticulate ridges on its notum. The species Phyllidia ocellata, Phyllidia tula, Phyllidia varicosa, and Phyllidia coelestis all have different foreguts, plus tubercles capped with yellow coloration. Additionally, unlike Reticulidia fungia, Reticulidia halgerda does not have a broad bluish white border. This species is distributed across multiple locations in the central and western Pacific Ocean, including East Australia, Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, the Marshall Islands, and Fiji.
