Raorchestes ponmudi is a species of frog belonging to the family Rhacophoridae. This species is endemic to the Western Ghats region of India. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, which are classified as threatened habitats. The species was first described from Ponmudi hill, after which it is named, though later research confirmed it has a wider distribution across the southern Western Ghats. It has been found at elevations around 1000 meters above sea level. Documented localities include the Wynaad, Idukki, and Thiruvananthapuram districts of Kerala, and Valparai in Tamil Nadu. Individuals have been observed perched on branches 8 to 15 meters above the ground, in the upper levels of the forest canopy.
