About Ranunculus parviflorus Loefl.
Ranunculus parviflorus Loefl. is an annual herb that grows a mostly erect stem reaching a maximum height of 40 centimeters. The entire plant is covered in soft hairs. Its leaves have rounded blades that are toothed, deeply cut, or divided into toothed sub-lobes. Leaves are carried on long petioles, with the longest petioles found on leaves near the base of the plant. Individual flowers, 3 to 6 millimeters across, grow singly in leaf axils. Each flower has a small number of tiny yellow petals that are no longer than 2 millimeters, and some flowers do not produce petals at all. Its sepals curve backward. The fruit is an achene, which develops in a spherical cluster that usually holds 10 to 20 achenes. In Ireland, this species grows in fields in some southern counties, and it is becoming rarer there.
