About Ranunculus nivalis L.

Ranunculus nivalis, commonly known as the snow buttercup, is a plant species that belongs to the buttercup family Ranunculaceae. It is a perennial herb that reaches a maximum height of 9 inches, which equals 23 centimeters. This species grows in wet alpine meadows, on cliffs, and along streamsides. Snow buttercup shows prominent heliotropism; by tracking the sun's movement to capture more solar energy, it gains an advantage in the harsh, cold environments where it grows.
