About Ranunculus micranthus (A.Gray) Nutt. ex Torr. & A.Gray
Ranunculus micranthus is a flowering plant species that belongs to the Ranunculus genus, commonly called the buttercup genus. It has two common names: rock buttercup and small-flowered crowfoot. This species is native to North America, and its distribution spans most of the eastern United States. Ranunculus micranthus looks extremely similar to another species in the same genus, Ranunculus abortivus, which is known as small-flowered buttercup. The two species can be distinguished by two main features: the hairiness of their receptacles, and the shininess of their achenes.
