About Ranunculus californicus Benth.

Ranunculus californicus Benth. can grow up to 70 centimeters (2.3 feet) tall. Its bright yellow flowers are roughly 1 to 2 centimeters (0.033 to 0.066 feet) in diameter, and each flower has 7 to 22 shiny, teardrop-shaped petals. Every individual flower grows on a long, green, leafless stem. There are two recognized varieties of this species: Ranunculus californicus var. californicus and Ranunculus californicus var. cuneatus. Ranunculus californicus is cultivated as an ornamental plant for use in native plant gardens.
