About Ranunculus bullatus L.
Ranunculus bullatus L. produces all its leaves at the base of the stem. These leaves measure 2–6 cm in length, are oval in shape, and have broad, rounded teeth. Each individual plant bears 1 or 2 yellow, scented flowers, each approximately 25 millimeters in diameter. Each flower holds 5 to 12 slightly irregular petals. This species flowers from October through December, and often forms dense growth that covers large areas of ground. It grows across the entire Mediterranean region, including North Africa, in rocky sites, olive groves, and dry fields, at elevations ranging from sea level up to 900 meters.
