About Radulomyces copelandii (Pat.) Hjortstam & Spooner
Radulomyces copelandii (Pat.) Hjortstam & Spooner is a toothed crust fungus. It is recognized by its whitish or pale yellowish flattened teeth, which darken to brownish hues as they age. It grows in patches that measure 30 centimetres (12 inches) or more across, and its individual teeth can reach up to 1 cm in length. The basidia of the fungus are located at the tip of each tooth. This species typically grows on logs and decaying wood. It is native to Asia, where it has been recorded from the Russian Far East, China, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka. It is now also found in North America; it was first collected there by J. Ginns and Lawrence Millman in Massachusetts in 2009.
