Quintinia serrata A.Cunn., commonly known as tāwheowheo, is an evergreen tree species belonging to the genus Quintinia. It is endemic to New Zealand. Its leaves contain distinct patterns of two specific anthocyanins: cyanidin 3-O-glucoside and cyanidin 3-O-galactoside. These anthocyanins function to protect the plant's shade-adapted chloroplasts from direct sunlight.
