Quercus resinosa Liebm. is a deciduous tree. It can reach a maximum height of 15 metres (49 feet), and its trunk can grow up to 70 centimetres (28 inches) in diameter. Its leaves are very large, growing as long as 50 cm (20 in), and are thick and stiff. The leaves are broadly egg-shaped, with their widest section located toward the tip.
