Quercus oglethorpensis W.H.Duncan is a tree that reaches roughly 25 meters (83 feet) in height, with a diameter at breast height of approximately 80 centimeters (31 inches). Its bark is white or pale gray. The species produces narrowly elliptical leaves that grow up to 15 cm (6 in) long. The leaves are typically flat rather than cupped, and they usually do not have lobes. This oak is endemic to the southeastern United States, and is only found in the Piedmont region of Georgia and South Carolina, as well as in the states of Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
