About Quercus canariensis Willd.
Quercus canariensis Willd. is a medium-sized deciduous to semi-evergreen tree. It reaches a mature height of 20โ30 metres (66โ98 feet), with a trunk that can grow up to 1.5 m (5 ft) in diameter. Its leaves measure 10โ15 centimetres (4โ6 inches) long and 6โ8 cm broad, with 6โ12 pairs of shallow lobes. It produces catkin flowers, and its fruit is an acorn that is 2.5 cm long and 2 cm broad, held in a shallow cup. This tree has been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
