About Quercus canariensis Willd.

Quercus canariensis Willd. is a medium-sized deciduous to semi-evergreen tree. It reaches a mature height of 20โ€“30 metres (66โ€“98 feet), with a trunk that can grow up to 1.5 m (5 ft) in diameter. Its leaves measure 10โ€“15 centimetres (4โ€“6 inches) long and 6โ€“8 cm broad, with 6โ€“12 pairs of shallow lobes. It produces catkin flowers, and its fruit is an acorn that is 2.5 cm long and 2 cm broad, held in a shallow cup. This tree has been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
