This species produces hairy leaves that bear extrafloral nectaries, which may help reduce levels of herbivory. Qualea multiflora is pollinated by bees from genera including Xylocopa and Centris. It is native to the Neotropics, where it occurs naturally in Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Peru. This species grows naturally in acid soils.
