About Pythonides lancea (Hewitson, 1868)
Pythonides lancea is a species of butterfly that belongs to the skipper butterfly family. It is found in Brazil and Argentina. This species was first formally described in 1868 by William Chapman Hewitson, who originally named it Leucochitonea lancea. Hewitson described the species after recognizing that it was distinct from Pythonides jovianus, which had previously been described by Pieter Cramer.
