The brown bullfinch, scientifically known as Pyrrhula nipalensis, is a bird species that belongs to the true finch family Fringillidae. This species can be found in Bhutan, China, India, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Taiwan, and Vietnam. Its natural habitats are temperate forests, as well as subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. Brown bullfinches are relatively small birds, measuring 16.5 cm (6.5 in) in length, with grayish coloring on the head, nape, and breast. Their diet is made up of nuts and native conifers. In Bhutan and Vietnam, this species can often be seen moving in pairs or small groups. Currently, little is known about the overall biology and behavior of this species.
