About Pyrausta rubricalis Hübner, 1796

Pyrausta rubricalis, commonly known as the variable reddish pyrausta moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Crambidae. It was first described by Jacob Hübner in 1796. This species is found in North America. In eastern North America, its recorded range extends from Illinois to New York, and southward to Florida and Louisiana. It is also reported on the western coast of North America, ranging from southern California to Washington. The wingspan of adult Pyrausta rubricalis is approximately 15 mm. Adult moths have been recorded in flight from March through October.
